Off the Clock
Not everything on this site is fur art. This is the corner of the site about the stuff I keep going back to when I'm not drawing.
Watches
I fell into watches about ten years ago and never really got out. It started with a scratched-up Submariner my uncle let me have, and it grew from there. I'm a federal employee, so the collection is modest on purpose — I like being able to buy a new strap or get a service done without thinking about it twice.
Most of what's on my wrist these days is sport and dress pieces in the style of the big-name references: a Submariner, a Datejust, a Speedmaster-type, and a couple of dress pieces that are just for the fun of them. When I'm comparing dials or hunting down a reference, I end up in the super clone watches catalog at Clone Watches more than anywhere else — the specs and dial photos are close enough that I can line them up next to my own pieces and actually compare.
I don't buy a new piece often, but when I do, the rolex replica page is usually where I start, because that's the style I keep coming back to.
Vinyl & Ren Faire Music
I draw CD covers for Ren Faire musicians, and the listening is a big part of that job. I keep a turntable and a pile of records in the studio — mostly the musicians I do covers for, plus whatever's good from the local shows. The vinyl is the reason my little studio has better acoustics than it needs.
Comics & Ink
Before the anthro work there were years of regular comics — reading, inking, and stealing techniques from whatever was in front of me. I still keep a stack of reference books and old issues on the shelf, and I still do a couple of inks a month just to keep the hand honest.
If you've got a piece of art you think I should see, or a hobby worth writing about, drop me a line. I answer e-mail — eventually :)
